Is Teeny Scribbles, LLC licensed?
Yes. Teeny Scribbles, LLC is licensed and regulated by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and follows all required health and safety standards.

What are your business hours?
Teeny Scribbles, LLC is open Monday through Thursday from 7:45 am to 5:30 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We are closed on major holidays and take scheduled vacation closures throughout the year.

What ages do you accept?
We currently provide care for children ranging from 6 weeks to preschool age.

Do you offer part-time care?
Yes. We offer part-time care with a minimum enrollment of three days per week.

Is there an application fee?
No. We do not charge an application fee to join our waitlist or begin the enrollment process.

What is included in tuition?
Tuition includes wipes, nutritious home-cooked meals and snacks, daily enrichment activities, and individualized care in a small group setting. 

Do you provide meals and snacks?
Yes. We provide nutritious meals and snacks prepared daily with an emphasis on wholesome ingredients, fresh produce, whole grains, and balanced nutrition.

How do you handle allergies and dietary restrictions?
We take allergies and dietary needs seriously and work closely with families to accommodate individual dietary restrictions whenever possible. Please discuss any allergies or special requirements during enrollment.

Do you offer enrichment programs?
Yes. We currently offer weekly music enrichment classes and are exploring additional enrichment opportunities, including Spanish language experiences and other specialty programs.

Do children go outside daily?
Yes, weather permitting. Outdoor play and nature exploration are an important part of our daily routine and support physical development, sensory learning, and overall well-being.

How do you communicate with parents?
We maintain open communication with families through the Brightwheel app, this may include daily updates, photos, meals, naps, activities, and important announcements.

Are you closed on major holidays?
Yes. A yearly holiday and closure schedule is provided to families in advance and is also outlined in the family handbook.

Are tuition fees due during closures?
Yes. Tuition is billed and paid 52 weeks per year, including scheduled holidays, vacations, and closures.

Are staff members CPR and First Aid certified?
Yes. All caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified to help ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care.

What are your caregiver-to-child ratios?
We maintain small group sizes and caregiver-to-child ratios that meet or exceed Illinois state requirements to ensure individualized attention and quality care.

How do you handle behavioral challenges?
Our approach focuses on positive guidance, redirection, emotional support, and age-appropriate expectations. We work closely with families to support each child’s social and emotional development in a respectful and nurturing manner.

What is your policy regarding sick children?
To help maintain a healthy environment, children who are ill or showing symptoms of illness should remain home. Our detailed illness policy is outlined in the family handbook.

What is the enrollment process?
Families are encouraged to contact us to learn more about the program and schedule a tour. Once a space becomes available, enrollment forms and additional program information will be provided.

Do you offer trial days?
Yes. Trial days may be offered at the daily drop-in rate to help new families determine if the program is a good fit for their child.

How is safety maintained within the program?
We maintain a secure environment through practices such as locked entry points, visitor awareness, safety procedures, emergency preparedness planning, and ongoing staff training.

Can parents visit while their child is in care?
Yes. We maintain an open-door policy and encourage open communication and family involvement.

What are nap and quiet time routines like?
Children are provided with a designated nap or quiet time each day based on their developmental needs. Non-napping children may participate in quiet activities during this time.

Do you support children with special needs?
We work closely with families to provide individualized support whenever possible and encourage open communication regarding a child’s specific needs and accommodations.

How far in advance should families join the waitlist?
We encourage families to join the waitlist as early as possible, as availability can be limited and openings are often filled well in advance.

Do you offer sibling priority?

Yes. Sibling priority may be offered when possible based on program availability and scheduling needs.
